COMMUNITY WORD

We journey toward the birth of Christ with hope, peace, joy and love.

ORDER

“Prepare the way of the Lord, make straight his paths.” (Mk1:3b)

PROPHECIES

  1. I am always with you for I am your Emmanuel (God with us).
  2. Prepare your heart to be My dwelling place.
  3. Live in My presence where there is peace and joy.

DIRECTIONS

  1. During the season, be spiritually prepared through constant prayers, scriptural reflection, reception of the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Communion.
  2. Remember the elderly, those physically and emotionally challenged; find time to visit and fellowship with them.
  3. Let Christ be seen in us by sharing our blessings to those in need and the less fortunate.
  4. Honor our Blessed Mother as we celebrate the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception and the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

Week#1 (1st Sunday of Advent)

Theme: We live in hope as we remain watchful for the coming of Christ.

Promise: “He will keep you firm to the end, irreproachable on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.”  (1 Cor 1:8)

Week#2 (2nd Sunday of Advent)

Theme: We receive Christ’s peace as we turn to God in repentance and reconciliation.

Promise: “Near indeed is his salvation to those who fear him, glory dwelling in our land.” (Ps 85:10)

Week#3 (3rd Sunday of Advent – Gaudete Sunday)

Theme: We rejoice as we proclaim the good news of the coming of Christ.

Promise: “My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord; my spirit rejoices in God my Savior…” (Lk 1:46-47)

Week#4 (4th Sunday of Advent)

Theme: We welcome Christ’s love as we obey God’s will, like Mary.

Promise: “The Holy Spirit will come upon you…for nothing will be impossible for God.” (Lk 1:35a, 37)

Week#5 (The Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph)

Theme: We build Christ-centered families by following the example of the Holy Family.

Promise: “Blessed is everyone who fears the Lord, who walks in his ways! For you shall eat the fruit of your handiwork.” (Ps 128:1, 2a)
